You can only have three workers as a free player, which is sufficient to start building up your resources.
Prioritize buying the worker Dr. Sara first with 100 food. She should work in shifts between mining, the electric room, and the chicken house.

Always keep your dog exploring to gather materials.
Set up auto mode for your butcher house once you have enough chickens.
Purchase the solar plant from the build menu after obtaining the electric generator. This will provide free power and allow one worker to be used elsewhere.
