Does VAM 2.x support mods from version 1.x?

Scenes and mods from VAM 1.x are likely not compatible with VAM 2.x out of the box.

Is there a VR mode in VAM 2.x?

Yes, there is an option called 'xr' which enables VR mode. To use it, start the program and click the VR button on the UI.

VAM 2.x Alpha 2 includes several new features such as a bedroom environment with a model, sample full house environment, improved skinning system, motion vectors and TAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing), more makeup and iris choices for models, additional morphs, limited save/load options for morphs and poses, smooth physics motion option, head and eye gaze, eyelid automation, micro-expressions, overhauled UI, indirect lighting improvements, light color picker, spot light angle controls, depth-of-field effect enhancements, up/down movement in VR, and FPS-style keyboard and mouse navigation.

What are the known issues with VAM 2.x Alpha 2?

Known issues include joint tangling when changing animations, unstable joint physics, jerky head gaze movement, performance impact from DLSS, UI open affecting FPS, large memory footprint, inaccurate collision detection, low-quality textures, mesh normals and tangents not recalculated after posing, dark ambient occlusion in certain areas, expensive static hair rendering, CPU-based skinning causing high costs on HD models, shimmering controls with DLSS enabled, weird joint bending when pulling pins too far, limited VR mode functionality.

What is the roadmap for VAM 2.x?

The roadmap includes completing the core engine and first set of built-in atoms in the first beta, implementing a skin physics system in the second beta, developing clothing and hair systems in later betas, and eventually releasing an API and plugin system along with custom tools for community creation.

Performance Optimization

• If your headset caps at 45fps per eye due to a refresh rate of 90Hz, consider disabling Asynchronous Spacewarp in the headset settings.
